Saturday Track Conditions

Two Hills - Racing heads to Sandown Hillside and Rosehill

The summer hits both Sydney and Melbourne today ensuring Good racing surfaces at the big meetings.

Rosehill hasn't received much irrigation due to the overcast weather during the week. The rain has held off and a hard and fast track is possible. The flat track, tight turn and open expanses at Rosehill usually suits more powerful gallopers when it is dry. Smaller horses such as Timeless Prince won't be favoured.

The big long straight at Sandown gives most gallopers their chance, they just need to be able to handle the turn and downhill section soon after. A recent meeting at the track (7th Jan) was fair, but according to Sam Hyland there may be a slight preference to off rails gallopers this time.

"Track walks with some marking inside 3m, walks best 4-10 (metres) out in the straight with good cover." Samuel Hyland, Track Expert (on Twitter)

A hot day is forecast with a strong northerly wind, which will blow into their faces down the back straight (races 1200m or over).
