Number one today - Rebel Dane is the highest rated horse in the Australia Stakes
Group Two racing returns for 2016 at Moonee Valley today for the Australia Stakes. REBEL DANE, MOURINHO (last year’s winner over Dissident), HUCKLEBUCK and TRUST IN A GUST are all Group One winners resuming over the 1,200 metres.
There are a few quirks with the major fancies, including the ‘fav’ REBEL DANE, who is still a maiden at The Valley despite running some good races there. He's a swooper that needs things to go his way.
Three-year-old RAGEESE from the Hawkes stable will also have his followers too. It simply a case of whether the promising son of Street Cry has the speed needed to win over the sharp six furlong distance.
It's been the scene of many upsets and if there is one this year, track specialist IT IS WRITTEN could be the one to make it an amazing 9 wins around the tight-turning cicuit
