Horse of the Week: Press Statement

Published: 22 Feb 2016

Number one three-year-old - Press Statement stamped his authority on the weekend

Chris Waller had a grin from ear to ear and so did most of the on-track punters as PRESS STATEMENT scored an easy win in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes. He had been backed in from $2.5 into $2 during the week and Hugh Bowman guided the long-striding son of Hinchinbrook perfectly around the Rosehill 1,400 metre course.

Leaving Eskimo Prince winner SPILL THE BEANS in his wake at the top of the straight and ending up a clear 2.3 length margin ahead of the chasing pack, it was a performance worthy of Horse of the Week.
