It was a day of winning streaks at Royal Randwick today, promising stayer COLLATERAL (picture) making it four wins in a row, apprentice jockey Rachel King winning three on the card and Tye Angland matching Rachel's efforts with three wins of his own.
Most jockeys read the track perfectly on a HEAVY 8, the inside ground playing well early in the day before coming slightly OFF RAILS was preferred in the later races. Race 9 over 1,000 metres finishing with a big upset as swooper SALERNO stormed down the outside at 30/1.
Bjorn Baker's COLLATERAL is a stayer worth following, but he wasn't the only impressive winner on the card. Kris Lees new recruit SOUND PROPOSITION and David Pfieffer's mudlark PELENTHRONIUS both won in style and should enjoy more ground next start.
Veteran BOSS LANE produced the form turnaround of the day, the six-year-old gelding winning Race 7 after getting soundly beaten at his last few starts. A 9.5 length turnaround on his most recent start against KUDERO!
A feature race review will be on-line Tuesday 9am (note: brief review only during winter months).
