A capacity field take their place in a race listed as a Benchmark 85 Handicap, but in truth, there are only a handful of runners rated around that mark. The market has honed in on three runners with the rest quoted at double figure odds. Heading betting is the very consistent Generalife who comes out of a stronger race when narrowly defeated by Eigelstein (has since won) after doing a little work early. The enigmatic Burbero is next in betting, who made up for being badly blocked at Scone with a solid win in a midweek race last start. The other horse in the market, You'll Never, seems to be crying out for the extra distance of this race after some very honest runs over 1200m recently. He is beautifully weighted here and has the formlines to win. Of the others, Aghamore looks the likely leader and without much pressure he must be given some hope, whilst Sir Berus has been thereabouts of late and is better suited at this distance also. Lofty Ambition, from the in-form Les Bridge yard, is taking on the older horses and looks to have some scope, but has not been the most genuine in his two runs this time in. Even though there are no stars of the future, they will still pay out on the winner. A good betting event in which you can narrow in on the better chances quickly.
