A typical tough on-pace Waterhouse Bott galloper. He relished a wet track to win the G1 2400m Derby.
When questioned T. Clark stated that in his view Major Beel does not appreciate the firmer racing surfaces and is better suited on rain-affected going.

Long and leggy gelding that tends to wind up and finish off late. He can show up fresh and handles wet tracks well. Likes a bit of galloping room, he doesn't seem to perform cluttered up on the inside.

Adaptable stayer that is reliable over 1800m to 2400m in all conditions when fit. He doesn't quicken sharply and tends to sustain a solid run.
