A handy field of fillies lines up for the J H B Carr Stakes with many of the entrants coming through the PJ Bell Stakes run at Randwick in the wet a fortnight ago. The two favourites Miniature and Northern Glory were the best performed there, with Miniature perhaps the better of the two runs after being slightly held up and racing nearer to the inside than those that swooped out wide. Dublin Lass also performed well, having sprinted quickly from on-pace until others swept by towards the end. She looks open to improvement on a drier track but there looks to be plenty of speed, which will harm her chances. Calming Influence, Lady Lakshmi and Champagne Cath all have talent and will press on early, perhaps setting it up for swoopers like Flight Academy. The classy Kiwi Hera is the query runner, she will be keeping on towards then end but may lack the speed needed to win. A close race and expecting a very busy finish.
