Lunchtime on the Punt

She's Apples at lunch-time? - Mr One Eleven lines up in the first
Midweek racing moves to Canterbury this week, the track that gets so much publicity for a great racing surface but still lags back in the 1960s when it comes to racing facilities. The old main building looks like an aircraft hanger and the internal decoration reminds you of an old Club in desperate need of a makeover.
It does have it's charm though. The paved area between the main stands and mounting yard is used by many trainers and strappers to watch the race together, which makes for a nice atmosphere, and the grassed areas out the front provide ample room to lap up the summer sunshine. It is all about the thoroughbred action anyway.
Today's card is a good one, interest coming from good quality first and last races, alongside the debut of Overreach's three-quarter brother Skylimit.
Form Guides are available for all the races and a feature race preview is on-line for Race 1.
