Stormy Skies over Rosehill

Tough young 'hoop' - Tommy Berry comes back a winner on mud-lark Saigon Tea (Rosehill Race 6)
Sydney's current stormy weather patterns are sure to keep the new track rating system in the mix this weekend as we head to the wide open expanses of Rosehill on an initial rating of a Heavy 8. The rail moves from +6m to the true position and all race factor analysis will be needed, especially looking for horses that can sustain a long run in the wet (assuming storms do come).
The mounting yard will play a factor too in the muggy weather, with some horses sure to be bothered by potential storm activity and sweat up in the conditions.
With no 'feature' race on the card, the fields still make for a competitive day's racing. The Waller (6 out of the 9 runners in Race 5) and Godolphin stables factor heavily on the race card. With team Godolphin on fire at the moment, O'Shea will be taking it right to the leading Kiwi trainer again.
The Phillip Hughes Tribute rounds out the day in what has been a testing week for Australian sport. The team at The Race Guide extends our condolences to Phillip's family and friends at this time. The racing year has also been one to remember off the track with some tragic deaths, both human and thoroughbred.
We can only hope for a more fortunate and safe 2015.
