Coyle’s Machine takes on Canterbury

Big chance - Scream Machine will be racing today at Canterbury
Trainer Jason Coyle has opted for the 1550m December Handicap at Canterbury today rather than the Group 3 Summer Cup yesterday and it looks like it was a masterful decision.
Evidence of his reasoning can be seen in his quote from Friday. “In a 2000m there is a possibility the pace may slacken mid-race, which is a concern.” He said. “But I know there will be a genuine tempo at Canterbury.”
The first part of his prediction came true with the Summer Cup run in a slow 2:04.77 minutes, a speed that would have made it extremely tough for the athletic back-marker to make up the ground.
If the second part is correct and a Strong Tempo is set at Canterbury, you know he will be finishing hard.
