Weekend Track Conditions

Published: 16 Jan 2015

Back to two of Australia's premier tracks again this weekend, racing takes place at Flemington in Melbourne and Royal Randwick in Sydney.

The steady and sustained home turn at Flemington is usually navigated with ease by most gallopers, but only the strongest can maintain their run down the long straight.

Royal Randwick's lush turf and famous 'rise' at the start of the straight make it a course that is suited for tougher types. Dry and fast conditions will make it hard for bigger, lean and efficient gallopers to find the speed needed.

The forecast conditions for the day are:

Royal Randwick

  • Current Rating - GOOD 3 (expected to hold)
  • Weather Forecast - Fine and hot, around 30 degrees
  • Irrigation - 2mm last 24 hours / 2mm last 7 days
  • Rain - 0mm last 24 hours / 27.4mm last 7 days
  • Rail - +4 metres
  • Expected Bias - Possible OFF RAILS BIAS again

Flemington
