Weekend Track Conditions

Sunshine hits Rosehill - The track is drying quickly for today's big card of racing

A few good days of sunshine since a deluge of midweek rain in Sydney has seen improvement in the Rosehill course rating. A Heavy 8 on Friday improved to a rating of Soft 6 on Saturday morning, with another upgrade possible.

The flat track and open expanses at Rosehill usually suits more powerful gallopers, but with a slight 'edge' of the track all horses could get their chance.

"Galloped on the Rosehill Track felt like a Soft 6 with an expected upgrade to 5. Great cover of grass and horses didn't mark track." Brenton Avdulla, Jockey (on Twitter)

Melbourne racing is back at Flemington for a nine race card on a good racing surface. The Flemington track manager Mick Goodie explained on Sky Sports radio that he expects the "inside 6 or 7 metres" to be favoured.

The long straight at Melbourne's iconic racetrack often suits gallopers that can sustain a long run down the straight.
