Horse of the Week: Dissident
Published: 20 Apr 2015
Game face - The 'Big 'Diss' before the 2014 Doncaster Handicap
It didn't take much discussion amongst The Race Guide's Analyst Team to give the mighty 'Big Diss' the mantle of Horse of the Week.
He capped off a career that just kept getting better and better with another brave performance to fight off Waterhouse's warrior Wandjina in Saturday's feature, the Group One All Aged Stakes.
OK, he got a pretty cheap run on the pace, but the heavily supported Chautauqua wasn't far off him with a furlong to go.
Strong on the line - Dissident kept lifting to win the All Aged Stakes by a clear margin
The flashy grey couldn't muster the finishing strength to get past him though, something that's never been an easy task.
A look at the Profiler brings one of Australia's mightiest horses to life.
