1 - Fresh Turf

The Royal Randwick turf has been through the wars.

306 gallopers thundered around the course in 13 days before the Sydney Storms unleashed 214mm of rain this week.

Despite a glimpse of sunshine, expect a chopped up and Heavy track on Saturday. We could have to deal with a rare 'OUT WIDE' bias, with jockeys searching for the best ground and wide barriers no disadvantage.

Troubled turf manager - Nevesh Ramdhani has had problems with the Randwick and Kensington tracks

2 - Soft on the Line

Race One, Number One on Saturday is the talented galloper ENCOSTA LINE. He looks to have a good future, but his recent efforts suggest a tough Randwick track might be beyond him at this stage.

After getting perfect trails, he's been soft on the line.

That doesn't bode well for a slog-fest on Saturday.

Can sprint, and stop - Encosta Line hasn't been maintaining his run to the line

3 - Tougher the Better

A lot of the smaller, leaner or tougher gallopers did well at Royal Randwick last week. The types of horses that enjoy it when the conditions take the 'kick' out of the finish of more powerful foes.

SLIGHTLY SWEET, DISSIDENT, PASADENA GIRL and RUGGED CROSS showed real determination to win their races.

And they were all at a good price.

Looking at this week's card, horses like BERRY DELICIOUS, TREE OF JESSE, SALFORD ART, HOLLYWOOD BOUND, SENSE OF OCCASION and PROPER MADAM could all run better than their price suggests.

Lean and tough - Tree of Jesse is a filly that fights hard to the line

4 - Freakish Form-lines

Chris Waller doesn't often get a genuine speedster, so RELIGIFY has been getting special attention.

And why not!

With form that mirrored CRAFTINESS last preparation and a recent impressive trial behind OUR BOY MALACHI, the form-lines are stacking up for a big win on Saturday.

Knows how to win - Religify has a great winning strike-rate

5 - Bias and Tempo Tricks

Two Chris Waller mares line up in Race 7 and a quick look at the form suggests INTIMATE MOMENT is clearly better than TELEPATHIC.

After all she did beat her home by almost 7 lengths last start!

But that was a 'tricky' race, with a STEADY TEMPO and a touch of NEAR RAILS BIAS. Both of those factors played to INTIMATE MOMENT.

With 3.5kg less weight on Saturday, TELEPATHIC is favoured to turn it around.

Can do better - Telepathic didn't have the luck last start
