Group One Glory @ Morphettville

Shining star - Miracles of Life showed all her heart and determination
Adelaide enjoyed it’s day in the sun as Sydney’s feature meeting at Hawkesbury was called off due to a ‘shifty’ track. The Group One highlights delivered memorable finishes, two classy gallopers storming down the middle of the Morphettville track.
The well-supported filly FENWAY strolled to the lead and controlled the tempo in the SCHWEPPES OAKS, and punters who backed the Group One Vinery Stakes winner would have been happy with the way the race was panning out.
But you only had to have a quick glance at DELICACY in the run to see she was sitting as quiet as a church-mouse. The champion West Australian filly picked up over the last furlong and was dominant on the line, taking her tally to 9 wins from 13 starts.
There is no doubt, she is a star in the making.
FENWAY fought on bravely for second, while BAHAMAS showed she has staying potential too, running into third. UNGRATEFUL ELLEN was the filly flashing up the inside late – one to watch for the future.
In the WILLIAM HILL CLASSIC, the crowd roared as the little ‘ball of muscle’ MIRACLES OF LIFE chased down GREGERS right on the line.
In a race where only a couple of lengths separated the top nine across the line, her heart and determination made the difference.
“She’s a really special horse.. the crowd’s response was close to Black Caviar”
Paul Snowden, Trainer of Miracles of Life
The unlucky run of the race came from AVOID LIGHTNING, who found herself out on a limb and still fought bravely in 8th, just 1.9 lengths from the winner.
