Horse of the Week: Oxford Poet
Published: 04 May 2015
Lone winner - Oxford Poet was the only horse to visit the winner's stalls on Saturday
In a decision much less controversial than Mayweather vs Pacquiao, this week's Horse of the Week in Sydney is OXFORD POET.
Kim Waugh's galloper was too strong in first race at Hawkesbury, where a very shifty track stopped the rest of the card from going ahead.
Take nothing away from the free-striding son of Dylan Thomas though. His current rich vein of form was rewarded with a commanding win, holding off GRANDE PUNTO in a slog to the line.
He's built himself an amazingly consistent record, only missing a place three times in 16 starts and banking over $300,000 for connections.
