Big returns? - Grunderzeit, named after an economic boom, lines up at Canterbury today
Midweek racing in Sydney heads to Canterbury Park today for a card of four Maidens and three solid Benchmark races.
Race 3 for the two-year-old Colts and Geldings is the most interesting Maiden, a few youngsters looking for better luck this time, including COYS, FEAST FOR EYES and CYRUS ROCKS.
The feature event of the day is the BM 75 for Colts, Geldings and Entires over 1,200 metres, in which PIRANDELLO makes his return for the Chris Waller stable. He'll have to be near his peak to hold out Godolphin's GRUNDERZEIT though, who is suited back in distance.
His unique German name describes a golden economic period in Europe before the First World War.
Hopefully there are big returns for Race Guide readers today!
