Top 5 Early Insights @ Rosehill Gardens

Built for the wet - Brook Road is an athletic type that can glide through soft ground
The Winter sunshine is out in Sydney after weeks of rain and a good card of off-season racing is planned for Rosehill Gardens.
With a current rating of HEAVY, you might expect us to get somewhere near the GOOD range by the weekend, but the luscious turf is holding on to every drop of moisture. A few morning dews will keep the track somewhere near the worst side of SOFT.
Ahead of the full Race Guides being on-line Friday morning, the Analyst Team have listed their Top 5 Early Insights below.
1 - Ace Wet Track Stats
The two favourites BM 95 1,100 metre sprint race (Race 7) could be 'mudders' even though they have only had one start on the wet between them.
BROOK ROAD was well fancied by her stable first-up before she scored a big win on a SOFT track, while SHIRAZ trialled impressively on a HEAVY track recently.
They are more athletic than most other sprinters, a conformation that can see them glide through conditions that others struggle in.
Wet track star? - Brook Road has a 100% record in the mud
2 - No Tempo, No Sprint
Race 2 is a 'tactical' middle distance race if ever you've seen one.
The favourites are all horses that prefer a FAIR to STRONG TEMPO, but there isn't much pace in the race!
Likely leader KEEP COOL looks set to control things from the front. If the tempo is STEADY, expect a 'messy' finish with lots in a group on the line.
Tempo helped - Reigning enjoyed the strong tempo to win last start
3 - Nearing Their Peak
A lot of the 'fresh' horses have struggled to perform in the very HEAVY conditions lately, most gallopers needing a couple of runs to find their best.
So what are the horses ready to take the next step this weekend?
HAUSSMAN (Race 6), SEE THE WORLD (Race 6), MORAL VICTORY (Race 8), ALEGRIA (Race 4), HOLY DELUSIONS (Race 5) and KEEP COOL (Race 2) can all improve and get into the finish.
Taking the next step - Haussmann is fitter after two runs this prep
4 - Shorter is Better
HOLLYWOOD BOUND (Race 8) doesn't quite get a testing mile, ZARATONE (Race 7) didn't enjoy the wet 1,200 metres at Randwick and SAVOUREUX (Race 5) found 1,400 metres too far.
They might be forgotten horses this weekend, but all of them can bounce back at their ideal distances.
Back to 1,500 metres - Hollywood Bound didn't stay the mile last start
5 - Another Chance for Miss
Last week this article featured MISSVONN, who disappointed as a short-priced favourite over 1,900 metres.
She was hindered by a STEADY TEMPO that day after relishing a STRONG TEMPO in open company at the start before.
Up to 2,400 metres this weekend gives her the chance to show off her stamina. She'll be very hard to hold out in BM 75 grade.
Gets another chance - Missvonn can be forgiven her last start failure
