Vet Notes
- Kiamichi (Race 1) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have lost its offfore plate on returning to scale.
- Lawan (Race 3) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have lost its off fore plate.
- I Like It Easy (Race 4) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed I Like It Easy to be slow to recover.
- Red Knot (Race 6) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the off-hind heel bulb.
- Rockin' Ruga (Race 8) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed blood present in the near side nostril which was due to a small laceration.
- Goldfinch (Race 9) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed speedy cuts to both hindlegs.

Summary of Races
RACE 1: Girls Day Out Handicap 1200m
- Sebrakate – Began only fairly.
- Chia – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
- Exhilarates – When questioned regarding the performance of the filly rider R King stated that her instructions had been, from the outside barrier, to ride the filly conservatively. She said that whilst her mount was hampered on jumping when Kiamichi shifted out, she was able to take up the expected position toward the rear of the field. She added that Exhilarates raced greenly in the early and middle and did not settle. She added that after shifting to the outside entering the straight Exhilarates was disappointing in its failure to run on as expected, however she did advise the Stewards that in that passing the finish line the filly made a audible respiratory sound and it was indictive of the filly not having a normal breathing pattern in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer representative Mr D Beadman advised that the filly, in his opinion was unsuited by the manner in which the race was run with a moderate early tempo which resulted in Exhilarates, which was having its first race start, racing keenly. Mr Beadman undertook to report back to the Stewards on the post-race condition and the future race plans of Exhilarates.
- Kiamichi – Laid out over the final 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have lost its offfore plate on returning to scale.
RACE 2: 2019 Membership Handicap 1400m
- Royal Celebration – Hampered on jumping when crowded between Ducale and Coterie, both of which shifted ground.
- Signing Sand – From a wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages.
- Ducale – Stewards permitted App S Weatherley to ride the filly 0.5kg over its allotted weight of 53kg.
- Baller – App R Dolan advised his instructions on the colt were to lead today from the outside barrier. He said that Baller commenced only fairly and as result he rode his mount along in the early stages to comply with his instructions. He stated that as he commenced to cross, he observed A Hyeronimus rider of Coterie commence to also urge his mount forward and for this reason he applied additional pressure to his mount to ensure it was able to lead. R Dolan further added that as result Baller once in front commend to race keenly, particularly when Coterie improved behind his mount and as result set a fast tempo in the early and middle stages despite his efforts to restrain. In appreciating his instructions Stewards advised R Dolan he should be mindful not to apply to much pressure to his mount in the early stages so as to avoid them racing in a manner in which Baller did today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
- Phoneme – Rider J Ford advised that the gelding hung in throughout the event and did not appear to appreciate racing in the clockwise direction. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stable representative Mr C Duckworth advised that last preparation Phoneme had raced similarly when it had raced disappointingly in a clockwise direction and he attributed todays disappointing performance to this. He advised that Phoneme would now be returned to the Melbourne stable. On this assurance no action was taken against the gelding.
RACE 3: TAB Highway Handicap 1400m
- Potent Force – Raced wide and without cover throughout.
- Lawan – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have lost its off fore plate.
- Sugar Dance – Rider J Parr advised that the gelding led at a slow tempo where it travelled well. He said that on the home turn Sugar Dance was inclined to lay out and as consequence lost momentum at that stage of the race and in the straight was disappointing in its failure to finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up on the post-race condition of the gelding in the days subsequent.
- Ave – Stewards permitted E Webster-Hawes to ride the mare 1kg over its allotted weight of 53.5kg.
- Carillon – Jumped awkwardly. For some distance near the 150m was held up and approaching the 50m was shifted to the outside of Potent Force to secure clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
- Onya Rosie – Stewards permitted J Adams to ride the mare 1kg over its allotted weight of 53kg. Was inclined to lay in, in early stages and near the 700m was awkwardly placed close to the heels of Ave. In the straight Onya Rosie continued to lay in and proved difficult to fully test to the finish.
- Blue Collar Boy – Slow to begin. Held up making the home turn and in the early part of the straight was shifted to the outside of Carillon to secure clear running.
RACE 4: Schweppes Handicap 1500m
- Karavali – Slow to begin and from a wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages.
- Sexy Eyes – Stewards permitted T Angland to ride the mare 0.5kg over its allotted weight of 55.5kg.
- I Like It Easy – Rider J Innes stated that his instructions were to take up a forward position but not contest the lead if Aurora Rose was intent on leading. He added that he was able to settle outside Aurora Rose in the run but from the 500m came under pressure and did not finish the race off. He further stated in his view I Like It Easy would be best suited to dictating terms as in his opinion the filly did not fully stretch out when racing amongst other horses. A post-race veterinary examination revealed I Like It Easy to be slow to recover.
- Velocita – Held up making the home turn
- Arrondissement – Slow to begin.
RACE 5: Eden Brae Homes Handicap 1400m
- Gamber's Blue – App S Weatherley advised that the gelding which was racing first up today commenced to give ground from the 150m due to its condition giving out at that point. He added that the gelding would derive a fitness benefit from today's performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
- Conarchie – Stood awkwardly in its barrier, made contact with the nearside barrier on jumping and lost ground (2L)
- Chaussure – Rider T Angland advised that from the wide barrier he settled back in the field as instructed. He added that Chaussure which was racing second up today was placed under pressure on the home turn but did not initially respond to his vigorous riding in the early stages of the straight. He added that under pressure in the straight Chaussure was inclined to lay in but did not respond to his riding until inside the 100m where the gelding made good ground. He added in his view Chaussure was now looking for additional distance.
- Gitan – Slow to begin and from a wide barrier was shifted in behind barriers in the early stages. Rider A Adkins advised that in his opinion Gitan raced like a horse that had reached the end of its preparation as it found it difficult to make up ground under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr J Dubois confirmed that Gitan would now be spelled.
- Man Of Peace – Over the final 200m hung out under pressure which restricted its rider J Ford in being able to fully test the gelding to the finish of the race.
RACE 6: Australian Turf Club Handicap 2000m
- Solo Mission – Slow to begin. Held up making the home turn and in the early part of the straight before securing clear running at the 300m.
- Spunlago – From the outside barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages.
- Mark Two – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
- Mazaz – When placed under pressure soon after the start to take up a forward position, shifted ground out obliging App S Weatherely to correct his mount. Raced wide and without cover in the early and middle stages before obtaining a position outside the leader Sky Boy near the 1200m.
- Red Knot – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the off-hind heel bulb.
- Miss Shanti – From a wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages.
- Vertex – When the tempo steadied near the 800m Smokin' Pierro was steadied away from the heels of Equipped. Vertex which was following had to be checked to avoid the heels of Smokin' Pierro.
RACE 7: The Agency Real Estate Handicap 1300m
- Gaulois – Shortly after the start was crowded between Pelethronius and Dyslexic.
- Tip Top – Began only fairly.
- Coruscate – Stable representative Mr D Beadman reported that the gelding had a small laceration to the near hind fetlock.
- Pelethronius – Near the 1000m Pelethronius had to be steadied when crowded between Petrossian and Dyslexic (A Adkins) which shifted in. A Adkins was repminadned and advised that he must be sufficiently clear when shifting ground. In this incident Petrossian was momentarily crowded and brushed the running rail.
- Dyslexic – On jumping was bumped on the hindquarters by Gaulois and became unbalanced.
- Petrossian – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
- Helarocity – Stewards permitted J Adams to ride the gelding 0.5kg over its allotted weight of 53.5kg.
RACE 8: Oh No Darren The Big Five Oh Sprint 1100m
- Bon Amis – On two occasions near the 900m Bon Amis and Under The Thumb (J Adams) bumped as Under The Thumb endeavoured to obtain a position one out behind Sedition. In the incident Bon Amis became unbalanced when taken towards the running rail. J Adams was advised in similar circumstances to exercise more care. Approaching the 600m was inconvenienced when racing tight to the inside of Sedition which shifted in away from Virgilio.
- Sedition – Near the 250m shifted to the outside of Chauffer to obtain clear running when close to the heels of that runner.
- Argent D'Or – On jumping was crowded by Bon Amis which shifted out.
- Leogang – Slow to begin and then was crowded by Chauffeur which shifted in.
- Rockin' Ruga – When questioned regarding the gelding racing back in the field rider J Innes advised his principal instruction was to go forward on the gelding however as it was racing first up today not to make too much use of his mount to do so. He said after commencing fairly he initially rode his mount along but when he formed the view he would not be able to cross runners to his inside he elected to restrain and come back to find cover, which resulted in Rockin' Ruga settling back in the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed blood present in the near side nostril which was due to a small laceration.
- Under The Thumb – Stewards permitted J Adams to ride the gelding 1kg over its allotted weight of 53kg. Began awkwardly. Briefly held up on the home turn. In the early part of the straight when raced restricted room between Sikhing Glory and Leogang both of which was shifting ground.
RACE 9: Rosehill Bowling Club After Party Spring 1100m
- Smart Amelia – Slow to begin. From a wide barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages
- Goldfinch – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed speedy cuts to both hindlegs.
- Strome – From the outside barrier was shifted in behind runners in the early stages. Near the 300m was disappointed for a run to the inside of Round Mountain Gal and was shifted to that runners outside near the 250m to secure clear running.
- Ellie's Encore – Approaching the 100m, when awkwardly placed close to the heels of the weakening Absolute Ripper, was steadied and shifted to that runners outside to continue into clear running.
- Absolute Ripper – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
- Montrachet – On straightening was hampered when taken wider by Can't Find Snippy which was taken out sightly by Falerina.
- Can't Find Snippy – Near the 800m Can't Find Snippy had to be eased to avoid the heels of Brook Magic (J Van Overmeire) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. J Van Overmeire was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
- Sebring Express – Stewards permitted T Angland to ride the mare 0.5kg over its allotted weight of 55.5kg. After being slow to begin was crowded shortly afterwards between Round Mountain Girl which was taken out by Can't Find Snippy and Ellie's Encore which was taken in by Regimen. Near the 200m was shifted to the outside of Brook Magic to secure clear running
