Group glory awaits - Shiraz heads to Melbourne in search of early Carnival riches

The Group 3 Aurie's Star over 1,400 metres is the feature race on the card at Flemington this weekend with multiple Group winner TRUST IN A GUST kicking off his Spring campaign. He took all before him in the Autumn, but will have to be at his best to get the better of promising Sydney galloper SHIRAZ, who has blown his rivals away in his two starts this campaign. 

On a good support card, other 'Carnival types' that return to the track include Australian Cup runner-up EXTRA ZERO in Race 2 and FIREHOUSE ROCK  in Race 6. 

The track is currently rated a SOFT 5, with no further showers in the forecast and a slight dew expected on Saturday morning.
