Neat and genuine - Gai tackles the Group 2 P.B. Lawrence Stakes with EXCESS KNOWLEDGE 

Spring is certainly in the air as Caulfield looks set for a great card of racing highlighted by the Group 2 P.B. Lawrence Stakes in Race 7 over 1,400 metres. Racing fans get to see the return of the 'people's horse' in THE CLEANER, while another popular elect, SMOKIN' JOEY has some residual fitness on his side. However it could be the first lady of racing that spoils the party with tough Waterhouse galloper EXCESS KNOWLEDGE (pictured) expected to be fully wound up after two trials. 

On a great support card, the Group 3 Lister Quizette Stakes in Race 6 sees unbeaten filly PETITS FILOUS step out to make it a hat-trick of wins, while the boys do battle in the Group 3 KS Environmental Vain Stakes in Race 5 with speedy type RAGAZZO DEL CORSA resuming. 

The track is currently rated a GOOD 4, with a partly cloudy day on Saturday forecast.
