Unlucky Runners
- Gold Ambition (Race 3) – slow to begin. Passing the 200m was disappointed for a run between Kimberley Star and Land's End, which was taken in by Tatoosh (K McEvoy). K McEvoy was told to make more effort to keep his mounts straight.
- Land's End (Race 3) – which was overracing when being restrained off the heels of Gold Ambition at the 700m, shifted out and bumped Intrepid Way. Close to the finish line rider B Avdulla was obliged to stop riding when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Kimberley Star.
- Tap This (Race 3) – approaching the 100m was held up on the heels of Metallic Crown.
Vet Notes
- Aeronautical (Race 5) – suffered a bleeding attack for the second occasion. Trainer Mr D Payne was advised the gelding would incur a lifetime bar under the provisions of AR53A.
- Atmospherical (Race 5) – when questioned concerning the performance, rider T Berry stated his mount did not appear comfortable in the going, particularly when racing in the chopped up part of the track from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying a poor post-race recovery.

- Mr L Baudron trainer of Orion Love (Race 1) $400 – fail to keep treatment records (AR178F).
Race-by-Race Summary
RACE 1: TAB Rewards Handicap 2000m
- Astronomos – slow to begin (2L).
- Sasenkile – made the crossing near the 1600m awkwardly.
- Orion Love – rider T Huet was unable to offer any explanation for the mare weakening in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
- Zayam – rider T Berry was unable to offer any explanation for the gelding weakening in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 2: LUCRF Jockeys Trust Handicap 1600m
- Amazon – slow to begin.
- Last Wish – at the 600m had to be restrained off the heels of Mr One Eleven.
- Wine Tales – when questioned concerning the performance, B Shinn stated, from its wide barrier, he settled a little further back than he had ideally wanted. He added that, passing the 1200m, the pace slackened, however, he was able to travel into the race at about the 700m on the back of Amazon. B Shinn further stated that Wine Tales disappointed in its failure to finish the race of and, in his opinion, is more effective on firmer surfaces. Trainer Mr C Waller stated, in his opinion, the mare is better suited on dry tracks and, in his view, may be suspect at running out a strong 1600m. He added that with the big weight today and adverse track conditions he attributed these to the principal factors in the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Mr Waller undertook to report back on the progress of Wine Tales subsequent to the race and indicated he would start the mare over 1600m again next start, but would look for a firmer track.
RACE 3: J B Cummings AM Tribute Ming Dynasty Quality (Group 3) 1400m
- Kimberley Star – rider B Shinn was dislodged during the preliminary a short distance from the barriers. Kimberley Star was inspected by the Club's Veterinary Officer and passed fit to start.
- Gold Ambition – slow to begin. Passing the 200m was disappointed for a run between Kimberley Star and Land's End, which was taken in by Tatoosh (K McEvoy). K McEvoy was told to make more effort to keep his mounts straight.
- Land's End – which was overracing when being restrained off the heels of Gold Ambition at the 700m, shifted out and bumped Intrepid Way. Close to the finish line rider B Avdulla was obliged to stop riding when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Kimberley Star.
- Tap This – approaching the 100m was held up on the heels of Metallic Crown.
- Cannyescent – rider K O'Hara reported that her mount overraced early when trapped wide without cover and she then allowed it to stride forward.
RACE 4: Coolmore Furious Stakes (Group 2) 1200m
- Look To The Stars – threw its head up and missed the start. Raced ungenerously passing the 600m.
- Ottoman - raced Keenly in the middle stages.
- Speak Fondly – on straightening came together with Serene Majesty as Speak Fondly was directed around the heels of Capricious Spirit.
RACE 5: Concorde Stakes (Group 3) 1000m
- Unanimously – jumped awkwardly, shifted out and hampered Craftiness.
- Aeronautical – suffered a bleeding attack for the second occasion. Trainer Mr D Payne was advised the gelding would incur a lifetime bar under the provisions of AR53A.
- Atmospherical – when questioned concerning the performance, rider T Berry stated his mount did not appear comfortable in the going, particularly when racing in the chopped up part of the track from the 600m. RACE 6: Tattersalls Club Chelmsford Stakes (Group 2) 1600m
- Beaten Up – the start was delayed when the bridle of the gelding had to be adjusted in the barrier.
- Tremec – fractious in the barrier.
- Pornichet – came together with Hartnell at the start.
- Hartnell – came together with Pornichet at the start.
RACE 7: Tattersalls Club Tramway Stakes (Group 2) 1400m
- First Seal – trainer Mr J Thompson was interviewed regarding the mare, which was withdrawn under veterinary certificate prior to scratching time this morning. Mr Thompson stated that problems relative to its near-hind hoof re-emerged this morning, although veterinary examinations and X-rays had cleared the mare. He added First Seal is booked in for an MRI and scan on Monday, 7 September 2015 and he will report the results to the Stewards. Mr Thompson was further advised a full veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare's next race start.
- Gypsy Diamond – slow to begin.
- Malice – near the 300m shifted in and bumped Sense Of Occasion.
- It's Somewhat – hung in under pressure in the straight.
- Flamingo Star – when questioned, H Bowman stated that in a moderate tempo the gelding travelled well, but when asked to quicken did not handle the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr C Waller could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance, but would look to step it up in distance and, if possible, place it on a firmer surface.
- Hauraki – when questioned, rider S Clipperton stated his mount was not suited racing back in the field when the pace was not genuine. He added he felt it made good ground to about the 150m, but then peaked on its run. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 8: TAB Supports Jockeys Trust Handicap 1400m
- Sadler's Lake – held up in the early part of the straight.
- Bohemian Lily – a post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stable representative Mr M Newnham stated that he felt the mare, which is somewhat one-paced, found the 1400m journey too short and the stable would look to step it up in distance.
