B Avdulla was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances, particularly when improving into narrow runs.
- Sultry Feeling (Race 4) – jumped awkwardly and bumped Music Magnate. Held up in the early part of the straight and then disappointed for a run approaching the 300m between Havana, which was commencing to weaken, and Dream Choice, which shifted out away from Slate On Edge. Near the 200m Sultry Feeling then had to be steadied away from the heels of Dream Choice (S Clipperton), which shifted out further. S Clipperton was advised to stop riding and straighten his mounts as soon as they commence to shift. Sultry Feeling then did not obtain clear running until approaching the 200m.

Vet Notes
- Herne's Oak (Race 1) - p post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off-fore cannon, off-hind heels and off-fore fetlock.
- Maurus (Race 2) – slow to begin and then hampered when Foundry shifted out shortly after the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of colic. Trainer Mr D Vandyke was asked to report back on the progress of Maurus subsequent to the event.
- Peeping (Race 5) – rider S Clipperton could offer no tangible excuse for the disappointing performance. He stated that the mare never felt comfortable and did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer Mr R Quinton was advised that he must produce an ECG and Peeping would be required to trial prior to its next start.
- Shards (Race 6) – rider J Moreira stated his intention had been to be more forward, however, the colt travelled well in the run until the 600m, where it was immediately under pressure. He added that he felt something may have been amiss with Shards shortly after entering the straight, and he, therefore, desisted from riding his mount out fully. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be coughing and that its temperature was within normal limits.
- Boss Lane (Race 7) – a post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened after being inclined to make a sustained run from the 600m and laying in in the straight under pressure, did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr R Quinton undertook to report back on the progress of Boss Lane subsequent to the race.
