  • Loophole – a veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened over the final 200m, revealed no abnormalities. Rider R Hutchings stated that the gelding may not have been suited by leading early and after finding cover mid-race, was somewhat one paced and could not quicken when asked for an effort in the straight. Stable representative Mr L Prior concurred Loophole had been disappointing and undertook to report if anything was amiss with the gelding subsequent to the race.

RACE 2 – Dyldam Stan Fox Stakes 1500m

  • Rageese – when questioned, rider T Berry said it had not been his intention to lead, but when Rageese jumped well, when the pace was moderate and when neither Shards nor Winning Accord showed any intention to lead, he allowed Rageese to cross. He stated that Rageese raced a little keenly when Winning Accord improved to his outside in the middle stages, but nevertheless, Rageese was disappointing in the straight as it laid in and failed to finish the race off.
  • Shards – after being crossed by Rageese, at the 1200m mark, Shards endeavoured to shift out to race to the outside of the heels of that runner but was held in by Winning Accord and as a result Shards had to be restrained.

  • King Kinshasa – was slow to begin.
  • Sasenkile – for some distance after passing the 300m, Sasenkile was inconvenienced and became unbalanced due to Kingdoms laying out and making contact with that runner. T Clark, was told to make more effort to keep his mount straight.
  • Look To The Stars – a post race veterinary examination of the filly revealed blood in the offside nostril. Trainer Mr C Conners was advised that Look To The Stars must gallop over 1000m prior to its next race start. Mr Conners advised that the filly will be spelled.

  • Catkins – when questioned, rider H Bowman stated that Catkins was disappointing in that it raced flat and could not quicken when asked to improve prior to straightening. Stable representative Mr L Prior stated that Catkins' second up form had previously been disappointing and when the mare was successful first up in the Sheraco Stakes on 12 September 2015, it returned to racing well over its previous racing weight and was still 10 kilos heavier going into today's event. He stated the only explanation he could offer was that Catkins may have been flattened by its first up run and undertook to report back if anything was amiss with Catkins subsequent to the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
  • Arabian Gold – rider T Berry stated that Arabian Gold travelled well, trailing the leader Two Blue, but it was a beaten horse prior to the 300m before compounding quickly. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer's representative Mr M Newnham stated Arabian Gold had pleased the stable since its first up race in the Tramway Stakes on 5 September 2015 and he could offer no explanation for its disappointing performance. Mr Newnham was asked to report back on the results of whether there was anything amiss with the horse subsequent to the race. The Stewards ruled Arabian Gold must trial prior to its next race start.
  • Berry Delicious – rounding the first turn, Berry Delicious, which was inclined to overrace, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Amanpour, which in turn was receiving pressure from Catkins (H Bowman) to shift to the rails position. K O'Hara was reminded to be two length clear when crossing. Paris Match, which was following, in turn had to be restrained off the heels of Something Secret.
  • Something Secret – in the middle stages, Something Secret, which was overracing, had to be restrained off the heels of Harry Hotspur. When questioned, rider K O'Hara stated that apart from the mare wanting to pull hard in the middle stages, she could offer no explanation for its failure to finish the race off. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr J Coyle stated that the only excuse he could offer is that the mare overraced in the middle stages, however he undertook to report back to the Stewards on the mare's immediate racing future.
