- D'Bai (Race 7) – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which raced wide and without cover from the 800m, found it to be 1/5 lame in the near-foreleg. The stable will be asked to provide a veterinary clearance prior to D'Bai being permitted to race again.

J. Ford's license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Monday 29 April 2019 and to expire on Sunday 5 May 2019, on which day he may ride.

Summary of Races
RACE 1: TAB Highway Handicap (1200 metres)
- Star Shaft - Was held up for clear running until the 350m, and again between the 200m and 150m was held up.
- The Drake - Fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly. The Drake was then, from a wide barrier, shifted behind runners in the early stages. In the middle stages, raced keenly.
- Amorita - Near the 700m when the tempo eased, the filly commenced to race keenly and was steadied from the heels of Gold Touch. A short distance later, Amorita had to be checked when it improved into a position between The Drake and Gold Touch when there was not sufficient room to do so. Between the 200m and the 50m, raced in restricted room to the inside of Al Mah Haha.
- Philadora - A post-race veterinary examination of the mare, which raced wide and without cover did not reveal any abnormalities.
- Glamour Cruise - Stewards permitted S. Clipperton to ride the filly 1kg over its declared weight of 53kg. Began awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
- Scorching - Began only fairly.
- Zariz No Other - Near the 150m, when commencing to give ground, was checked when crowded between Amorita, which shifted in slightly and Gold Touch, which was taken out by Star Shaft (S. Clenton), which improved into a tight run between Gold Touch and Prince Jacko. S. Clenton was advised to exercise more care. In assessing penalty, Stewards found that when S. Clenton commenced to improve into the position between Prince Jacko and Gold Touch, there was sufficient room to do so and that when Gold Touch shifted in slightly, it has contributed to the contact being made between Star Shaft and Gold Touch.
- Gold Touch - Near the 100m, was checked when crowded between Star Shaft and Amorita, which was taken in by Al Mah Haha (R. Bensley), which shifted in. Bensley was reprimanded and advised that he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they commence to shift around.
RACE 2: Ranvet Power Formula Sprint (1200 metres)
- Tougherthantherest - From a wide barrier, was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
- Top Striker – When questioned regarding the gelding being ridden in a more forward position today, D. Lane stated that whilst his intention was to be forward of midfield, he was obliged to take up a more forward position in the early stages to pass Chapelco and for this reason, Top Striker was obligated to take up a position outside the lead in the early stages.
- Tribal Wisdom – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which raced wide and without cover throughout the event revealed no abnormalities.
- Maximus – A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed no abnormalities.
- Test The World (NZ) - Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
- Echo Effect - From the outside barrier, was shifted behind runners in the early stages. For a short distance near the 200m, was steadied when Murillo shifted out to improve.
- Passage of Time - Slow to begin. Stewards considered a protest lodged by J. Ford, rider of second place, Passage of Time against Top Striker being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 200m. After considering the evidence, Stewards determined that near the 250m, Passage of Time secured clear running between Noble Joey and Top Striker, and then near the 200m, Noble Joey shifted out, which resulted in Passage of Time losing its rightful running and having to be shifted to the outside of Top Striker in attempt to find clear running. Stewards also determined that whilst Top Striker did shift out over the concluding stages, Passage of Time had not secured clear running to that gelding’s outside and therefore the protest was dismissed. At a subsequent enquiry, K. O'Hara was reprimanded and advised that she must stop riding her mount when they commence to shift ground.
- Problem Solver - Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
- Murillo (USA) - When questioned regarding his riding, J. Parr stated that from the 600m, he was positioned inside the heels of Man From Uncle and behind Chapelco and for this reason, he was unable to shift out to improve. He said, as a consequence, he was held up on the heels of Chapelco making the home turn and then in the straight, was held up until near the 300m. He stated that he then elected to shift to the outside of Man From Uncle, however, was obliged to check his mount to avoid causing interference to Echo Effect and as a result, Murillo was held up on the heels of Man From Uncle until the 150m. J. Parr was reminded of his obligations to ensure that he rides his mounts out fully to the finish of the race.
- Man From Uncle – Near the 200m, after being held up behind Test the World, shifted to that runner's inside, whereby it secured clear running at the 100m. J. Ford, rider of Passage of Time pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 50m, he directed his mount out when not clear of Man From Uncle, resulting in Man From Uncle having to be checked and crowded between Test the World and Passage of Time. J. Ford's license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Monday 29 April 2019 and to expire on Sunday 5 May 2019, on which day he may ride.
- No Doubt – Was held up for clear running until the 300m.
RACE 3: Cellarbrations Frank Packer Plate (2000 metres)
- Fun Fact - Shifted in on jumping, made contact with Amangiri and became unbalanced. Raced wide and without cover throughout the event. Near the 300m, was steadied to avoid the heels of Purple Sector (S. Clipperton), which shifted in. S. Clipperton was reprimanded and advised that he must provide sufficient clearance when shifting ground.
- Carif - From a wide barrier after being crowded between Purple Sector and Home Win, was then shifted behind runners in the early stages. Lost its off-hindplate.
- Watch the Cat - Began awkwardly.
- Amangiri - Was crowded on jumping between Dealmaker and Fun Fact, which shifted in. When questioned regarding his riding from the 600m, rider T. Berry stated that his mount travelled strongly in the run in a trailing position behind Home Win and to the inside of Fun Fact. He added that as Fun Fact had endured a wide run without cover, he elected not to shift out to follow that runner near the 1000m. He added that approaching the 600m, he expected Fun Fact would commence to give ground due to its tough run. He added when Fun Fact continued to hold his position, he was badly held up on the heels of Home Win from some distance from the 600m to making the home turn. He stated that, near the 500m, he was able to obtain a position behind Fun Fact, but as Purple Sector had then improved quickly to his outside, he was unable to improve, which resulted in Amangiri being held up behind Fun Fact making the home turn. He added in the straight, he then was disappointed for clear running between Fun Fact and Dealmaker at the 250m, and from this point, he was unable to secure clear running and could not test Amangiri to the finish. Having considered the explanations offered by T. Berry, Stewards found that the tactics he adopted on Amangiri were not unreasonable given the circumstances.
- On The White Turf (NZ) - From a wide barrier, was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Was held up for clear running until near the 200m.
RACE 4: Hong Kong Jockey Club JHB Carr Stakes (1400 metres)
- My Xpression (NZ) – Began awkwardly. From a wide barrier, was shifted behind runners in the early stages.
- Eawase – Shortly after the start, was crowded between Major Wager and Fiera Vista, which shifted out slightly. Again over the 150m, Eawase was steadied and crowded between Jen Rules and Into The Abyss, which shifted out slightly.
- Into the Abyss – Making the home turn, was held up for clear running, then on straightening, was badly held up behind the weakening Fiera Vista. Into The Abyss was then shifted to the outside of Fiera Vista and Major Wager, whereby it secured clear running at the 250m.
- Ragazze – Was crowded on jumping between Major Wager and Jen Rules, which shifted in.
- Asharani – Shifted its off-foreplate on route to the barriers. After being replated behind the barriers, Asharani was examined by the club veterinary officer and was deemed suitable to race. Began only fairly and from a wide barrier, was then shifted behind runners in the early stages. Rider B. Advulla stated that his intention was to be more forward than the filly, however it did not show early speed and consequently, settled at the rear of the field. He stated that he elected to follow Into the Abyss from the 600m, however when that runner was held up, he also had difficulty in obtaining clear running until the 200m, whereby Asharani then ran on strongly to the finish.
- Major Wager – Raced wide and without cover throughout the event.

- Haripour – When questioned regarding the performance, rider. H Bowman advised that after taking up a forward position on the gelding in the early stages, his mount was shuffled back from the 900m when All Too Soon commenced a forward move from the rear of the field. He said as a consequence, he was held up behind I'm A Princess and was unable to place his mount under pressure until near the 600m. He stated that in his view, the manner of which the race was run was not advantageous for Haripour in the circumstances that he was satisfied with his finishing effort.

- Power Scheme – Began only fairly.

- Fierce Impact – Shortly after the start, was bumped on the hindquarters by Manuel, and as a result, became badly unbalanced.
