Had to carry a big weight on the bog - Chris Waller's Sense And Reason is much better placed in Melbourne this Saturday
Summer racing heats up on the spacious William Hill Park Hillside track under warm, sunny skies. The rail is out +8 metres after racing in the +4 metre position on Wednesday, with a GOOD 3 surface forecast.
The feature of the day is the Listed City of Dandenong Stakes over the 1,000 metres, where carnival form will be the testing material for the likes of WILD RAIN, OFFICE BEARER, RELDAS and TUSCAN SLING. Last year's race winner DANGER CLOSE is coming into the race this time around with exactly the same preparation, a winning formula for trainer Jason Warren.
The other sprint race in Race 6 sees the return of classy filly HEATHERLY, who was competitive against the likes of Ready for Victory and Fontiton in the autumn.
In other races, RAGAZZO DEL CORSA has the weight, but also the class in Race 1, while exciting Darren Weir prospect TONOPAH will be swooping late again in Race 2.
An intriguing race for the mares over 1,400 metres (Race 4) gives Sydney girls SHE'S CLEAN and SENSE AND REASON (pictured) the chance to show their turn-of-foot over their pet distance.
