Top 5 Early Insights

No. 1 - Typhoon Warning

Racing returns to Flemington and we'll be looking for horses suited to the bigger track.

Mick Price's TWISTING TYPHOON hit the line hard at Mooney Valley despite hanging after the tight turn. Barrier 9 around the spacious 1,400 metres looks like the perfect scenario for him in Race 3.

The Bet - TWISTING TYPHOON at $4.4. Get CrownBet's odds here.

Found the right race - Mick Price has placed his talented three-year-old well

No. 2 - Wider Better?

The rain in Sydney, followed by drying weather and a true rail position are the perfect ingredients for an OFF RAILS bias at Royal Randwick.

Be careful backing horses like PROGRESSIVE (Race 3), TIGER BY THE TALE (Race 5) and CRUISE POWER (Race 6), who could all get stuck on the inside.

On the other hand, HIEROGLYPHICS (Race 3), ISTANBUL (Race 5) and WIDE ACCLAIM (Race 6) might be early value.

The Bets - HIEROGLYPHICS at $5, ISTANBUL at $4.6 and WIDE ACCLAIM at $12Get CrownBet's odds here.

Finding the fast lane - Wide Acclaim is drawn to take advantage of Randwick's bias

No. 3 - Watching the Weight

With the big spread of weights in Sydney Benchmark racing you've got to keep a close eye on the handicaps. Lesser rated horses right down in the weights are winning more often than not.

The form of ROARING TO WIN in Race 8 at Randwick is only fair, but the drop to 52.5kg is significant.

The Bet - ROARING TO WIN  each-way at $7.5Get CrownBet's odds here.

Sneaking under the radar - Roaring To Win will be ridden by apprentice Winona Costin on Saturday

No. 4 - Heavenly Run Please

A lot of analysts described HELLBENT as having every chance last start. An unfair assessment perhaps given he pushed forward with no cover and they ran slick time.

He's certainly not the boom horse we all thought he was, but it's still worth another chance.

Don't worry about his last run up the straight when he was in the worst ground.

The Bet - HELLBENT on Saturday (the price should drift)

A touch of class - Hellbent often stands out in the mounting yard

No. 5 - Tough Types

It could be a day for tough gallopers at Royal Randwick on Saturday, horses that prefer grinding to the line.

After good performances at Rosehill, we could see even better runs from horses like GREAT ESTEEM (Race 1) and EMERALD CITY (Race 4). They can both dig in for the fight up the famous Randwick rise.

The Bet - GREAT ESTEEM and EMERALD CITY place all-up at $4.2Get CrownBet's odds here.

Genuine stayer - Emerald City almost always puts in a good run
