All the odds for Rosehill Gardens and Caulfield are now on-line with our partner CrownBet, big fields for the Sydney carnival and some feature races in Victoria too.
Waller got the trifecta in the George Ryder last week at Rosehill, led by his freakish mare WINX, and he will try to repeat the dose this weekend in the Group One BMW over 2,400 metres. Australian Cup winner PREFERMENT will be hard to beat along with grinding stayers WHO SHOT THEBARMAN and GRAND MARSHAL.
In Melbourne, the Easter Cup is run over 2,000 metres. AWESOME ROCK looks for redemption after losing to PREFERMENT on protest last start.
The best early 'buys' and 'sells' acrss the two cards are shown below.
Rosehill Race 3 - Neville Sellwood Stakes
BUY IT'S SOMEWHAT at $2.5
This English import has raced well over 1,300 metres, 1,500 metres and the mile. Now it's time for O'Shea to get serious and step him up to 2,000 metres, which could see an even better performance.
He finished 3rd in the Group One Coral Eclipse Stakes last time he took on this distance. A race much better than this one!
Caulfield Race 6
SELL HIMALAYA DREAM at $7.5 and HOLLYWOOD BOUND at $8.5
These two Sydney raiders have questions over them. HIMALAYA DREAM stopped very quickly last start, while HOLLYWOOD BOUND has never won over this distance before.
Hawkes and Waller are searching for the right race and they might have to keep looking.
Caulfield Race 8 - The Easter Cup
BUY EXTRA ZERO to place at $2.7
His run in the Australian Cup was every bit as good as AWESOME ROCK and he is forever running on. The bookies don't seem to adjust his quote for a place, so we'll keep picking the time to strike and get a collect.
This race seems ideal for him to run yet another 'hole'.
Rosehill Race 5 - Tulloch Stakes
BUY PREDATOR at $11 and BALMAIN BOY at $20
Kiwi raider PREDATOR is a serious horse, a big strong son of Savabeel that bowls along near the lead and fights hard when he's asked, while BALMAIN BOY has some staying bloodlines of his own. The tough grey's dam is bred from champion sire Galileo.
Expect the market to correct on race day so get on early!
Rosehill Race 7 - The BMW
SELL MONGOLIAN KHAN at $6
PREFERMENT beat him easily in the Rosehill Guineas and that's when the Kiwi warrior was going well! A couple of 'so-so' runs this campaign should see his price drift on race day (...unless a big storm comes).
The favourites have him covered on current form.
