Group One winner - Which galloper can repeat the efforts of Boban last year?
The boys have gone on Sky Racing this morning to talk through the Key Factors for the Doomben 10,000. It's a great battle between the better sprinters from the BTC Cup a couple of weeks ago and the popular mare AZKADELLIA.

Doomben
The tight-turning Doomben track suits some gallopers more than others, they need to be able to get around the bend and kick into a short run home. It’s not the end of a horses chances though. As shown in recent races a patient ride can help the bigger types that aren’t as agile. Our Ivanhowe winning the Doomben Cup after a good ride and DELECTATION stormed home in the BTC Cup after not being asked for much around the turn.
You’d have to think the track is still a risk for DELECTATION if he needs to sprint on the turn, while DOTHRAKI and TWO BLUE both proved they perform well at the track.

Distance
Most of the horses in the race should perform over the 1,350 metre distance range, there’s just some slight questions on some of the favourites. Arguably AZKADELLIA would prefer 1,400 metres or further and a softer track, while DOTHRAKI and DELECTATION seem to perform better over 1,200 metres.
FELL SWOOP is the interesting one to look at. He’s unproven above 1,200 metres too, but the way he’s been fighting on to the line you’d think he’s been crying out for it. Both the TJ Smith and BTC Cup runs were very strong.

Position in Run
DOTHRAKI was the one that got the gun run last start from barrier 1, but he’s out wider this time and FELL SWOOP gets the nice trail behind bold leader TWO BLUE. The barrier doesn’t make too much difference to DELECTATION and MUSIC MAGNATE can go forward or back.
There has to be some slight risks for AZKADELLIA too, who will get back and wide from the barrier.
