Stayer that can sprint - Kiwi Volkstok'n'barrell has found the perfect race to strike on Saturday

No. 1 A Wonder in the Wet?

When you look at the form and stats you won't see much in favour for FALKENBERG when it comes to wet tracks. In fact, she has never raced on anything but good surfaces under race conditions.

But three things give The Analyst Team confidence she will handle it.

Firstly her breeding (a little sister to Sebring), secondly her conformation (a tough athletic type) and thirdly a barrier trial back on the 1st February. She skipped through a Heavy 8 that day to score an eye-catching 3rd.

Bet on FALKENBERG now at $7.5

No. 2 Another High for James

James Cummings seems to have found the trick to the big-striding son of High Chaparral HIGH MIDNIGHT. Keeping him fresh and letting him stride along near the pace has been a recipe for success two out of three starts this campaign.

A close 7th in the Scone Cup as a strong enough effort to suggest he can win again back at Rosehill.

Bet on HIGH MIDNIGHT now at $4.2

No. 3 Small Field Specialist

The Eagle Farm Cup shapes as a tactical race with a small field of eight runners, conditions that should suit the favourite in the race.

Kiwi VOLKSTOK’N’BARRELL has won seven of the nine races he's competed in with small fields (ten runners or less). And in the other two he ran 3rd and 4th in Group Ones.

A muscular type with a turn-of-foot over longer trips, it will be hard for the others to hold him out on Saturday.

Bet on VOLKSTOK’N’BARRELL now at $2.6

No. 4 Toughness versus Speed

The likely wet track in Brisbane will play a big part in determining the winner of the Group 2 QTC Cup. Powerful swoopers TARGET IN SIGHT and KAEPERNICK have a rapid sprint finish and the right form-lines, but they might lose a length or two on boggy conditions.

Kiwi mare PERFECT FIT and Sydney galloper SURE AND FAST are two tough horses that could take advantage.

Bet on PERFECT FIT at $7.5 and SURE AND FAST at $16

No. 5 Claiming the Cash

You can bet the apprentice claims will make a big different in Race 6 at Rosehill Gardens. SEEKING ASYLUM, SO WILLIE and MORE THAN FABULOUS are all consistent types that love the wet and won't have to carry much weight.

MORE THAN FABULOUS rarely runs a bad race, running into the placings at the odds of $14, $20 and $14 in recent starts.

Bet on MORE THAN FABULOUS to place at $5
