The Hawkesbury Race Club is located one hour to the north west of central Sydney, on the route to the Blue Mountains. The race track itself, and the backdrop of the mountains, provide a beautiful scenic location. Many meetings are held at the track, typically towards the end of the week, and the club now has a stand-alone Saturday meeting in May each year.

Other Track Information:


  • Kikuyu grass surface, sandy loam base and excellent sub soil drainage

  • The home turn has 6% camber with the remainder of the track having 2% cross fall

Rail Positions and Number of Starters:


  • Rail normal - able to start 16 horses

  • Rail out 3 metres - able to start 14 horses

  • Rail out 5 metres - able to start 12 horses
