The Unlucky Runners - Kensington

Got the right run - Not all gallopers were as lucky as Glyn Schofield's mount Resurrect
You had to be wary to get a collect at Kensington, finding gallopers that wouldn't be disadvantaged by the flying clods of turf was part of the puzzle.
Some gallopers weren't fortunate enough to find the right run. In this week’s Unlucky Runners the team focusses on the gallopers that were victims of the ‘Kenso Kick’.
Race 1 - SURF MEETS THE TURF PLATE
It didn't impact the result, but Brother Wind never seemed happy and could be worth forgiving next time at what is sure to be big odds. He looks a type to be suited by further too.
Race 2 - FIRST SO YOU THINK YEARLINGS @ 2015 SALES PLATE
Once again, the track wasn't playing up too much at this stage. Saigon Tea was in the wrong spot and is good enough to bounce back, but Terai and Lucky Lucky Lucky deserved the spoils.
Race 3 - FIRST SEPOYS AT NEXT YEAR'S SALES HANDICAP
Crooked Stick and She’s A Girl were the horses that got into the worst spot this time. Both are lighter athletic types and Crooked Stick did much the better of the two. Worth following.
Race 4 - INGLIS PREMIER YEARLING SALE 1-4 MARCH 2015 HANDICAP
Music Man and Cyclone may not have been up to them on the day, but we will never know after both resented some mud in the face. You could see both gallopers race with their head to the side at times. Note: Music Man also bled and will now be spelled for 3 months.
Race 5 - COOLMORE HANDICAP
Turbulent Jet is a big and tall galloper, he wouldn't have missed much of the Kenso Kick as it sprayed back onto him. He never travelled in the run and his effort was just too bad to be true. Note: Turbulent Jet also bled and will be spelled for 3 months.
Too bad to be true - Turbulent Jet didn't enjoy the conditions
Race 6 - SWIM BETWEEN THE FLAGS HANDICAP
Perplexity was in the right spot in the run, but coming back to the inside was a poor move. Ended up at the back and the run looks like it could be forgiven. A mention has to go to Barge And Charge also who raced wide on the hot speed.
Race 7 - CHOOSE SEGENHOE HANDICAP
Enormous Honour was the one back on the inside here. To be fair, he wasn’t really ridden like the stable was serious. Got buried back in the worst spot and never really got going.
Race 8 - HUNTER VALLEY HORSE CAPITAL HANDICAP
Despite it being the last race of the day, not too many hard luck stories here. Qfighter and Encostanati are worth a mention though, both looped the field as the pack raced wide. Racing at the back early on, they would have copped a few flying clods too.
