A lower grade race takes the prized position of Race 7 on the card, the same as the Golden Rose last week. Thankfully there are a few talented gallopers scattered through what is a mixed bunch of form-lines. The speed in the race looks solid enough, with Boss Lane, Maysoon and Handsome Tycoon likely to come across from wide barriers. If those three can navigate over without too much fuss they all have a kick at the end. Camped right behind them will be the up-and-coming sprinter Atmospherical, who is very well placed if she can see out the 1200m second-up. The best run-on types are the classic-looking mare Brook Road, now with the Kris Lees stable, and genuine little fighter Flight Academy, who always gives her all. The big mounting yard watch is Equator, first-up for Chris Waller (ex-Gai Waterhouse), a big strong type that usually carries condition, but might not this time. An intriguing race and a great one to pick through the form.
