The Group 1 Underwood sets some of the better middle-distance gallopers on their way for the Spring. The only problem when you look at the field is, where have all the good ones gone? Only a few top-class gallopers line up, in the shape of Cox Plate placegetters Happy Trails and Foreteller, and of course the terrific Silent Achiever. She is a deserved early favourite and will be very hard to hold out from the perfect barrier draw. Foreteller is the danger, but he has his tricks and needs things to go well to produce his well-known finish. Outside of those two you are either trusting in a return to form from Happy Trails, or jumping on the up-and-coming galloper Stipulate (has to give the favourite 2kg). Star Rolling will keep on from the lead and has each-way claims, while The Offer should be warming up late. The stage is set for the little Achiever to shine again in Melbourne's Spring.
