An intriguing sprint race presents itself with the contenders coming from different form-lines. Diamond Oasis travelled to Melbourne last start for a 955m scamper and he won with arrogance against a lesser field. He is a strapping type that appears to be racing right up to career best ratings. Green Beret lost out to Diamond Oasis a few starts ago and drops back 7.5kg into this after producing a good on-pace performance behind subsequent Flemington carnival winner Atmospherical. He is a big long-striding sprinter that sometimes lacks the sprint to win though. Other chances include Agent (bigger field might help), Dream Choice (under-rated) and Dothraki (has some class and good enough last start). Cosmic Cameo is a big watch in the mounting yard given there was no trial into this. The Northern Meteor entire is capable of coming back with a bang, or a big flop, given he’s an unreliable type. Pride looks to extend his sprint-racing dominance in this one.
