The headline race of The Champioships, the $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes has drawn one of the strongest line-ups in recent memory. Each runner is highly credentialed, none more so than the brilliant New Zealander Silent Achiever who has swept all before her this Autumn. The sleek and athletic mare has accounted for most of her rivals here already this campaign, winning in dominant fashion in The BMW, and will be very hard to beat again. There are challengers throughout the field though, including last year's stunning winner of The Australian Derby It's A Dundeel and the regal entire Carlton House, who is perhaps the most impressive type in the race. Both the 'Real Deel' and Her Majesty The Queen's horse will have been prepared specifically for the big day. Strong form lines also come from Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon and the Chris Waller horses that contested last week's Doncaster, Sacred Falls, Royal Descent and Hawkspur. The other Waller contenders Boban and My Kingdom of Fife should not be forgotten, although the wet Sydney tracks haven't seemed ideal for either of them in recent starts. Riding tactics are sure to play a major role, with an expected tempo that is no better than even, suggesting horses that race near the pace or have good acceleration could be advantaged. More than just a race, it will be two minutes that is etched into racing folklore. Enjoy.
