The feature race of the day, the Chelmsford Stakes, is half Chris Waller track gallop this year. 11 of the 17 acceptances are from the champion Kiwi trainer's stable and most of them are just here for a 'warm-up run'. Despite the big field, there isn't a great deal of early pace, expect PORNICHET (good turn-of-foot) and ROYAL DESCENT to be favoured racing on what could be a STEADY tempo.
