A small field of two year olds line up in what is sure to be a testing 1200m on the heavy track. The race favourite is Statton, who competed in a strong race on debut and did a good job to keep on as well as he did after being trapped three wide outside the lead early on a good tempo. He followed that up with a professional Canterbury win when quite strong to the line after sharing the lead. The other non-maiden in the race is the impressive Gosford debut winner Inz'n'out who hit the line stylishly in reasonable time. That was off a heavy track trial win which is a big plus in today's conditions. The beautifully bred Sun Force hit the line well behind Statton on debut, but looked in need of further when ridden along throughout at Gosford. Whilst he was brave there today's trip must be a query. Stable-mate Bayrock trialled well and was long odds-on at Newcastle on debut but knocked up after doing some early work. The main interest in the race centres on the Bart Cumming's first starter Coolcraft, who has looked outstanding in his two trials showing a brilliant turn of foot both times. With speed on early he should drift back and get the perfect run and only has to handle the wet conditions to prove extremely hard to beat. Tune in to @TheRaceGuide for all the updates from the track and to check how the two year olds are parading.
