The most keenly contested race of the day with a host of in-form three year olds lining up. The pace has come out with top-weight Oxford Poet now out of the race, amongst others. In A Knot and Choice Larga will push on and hopefully set up an honest rolling tempo, which will suit his last start winner Abbasso, who did well to sprint better than some stronger-set types last start and the slogging wet track will help. Other interesting runners include Pitcrew, who has good previous form but has trialled poorly, and Skarsgard, who has always shown that this sort of distance would suit. Vashka will be one of the toughest to knock over. A nice type that is as tough as teak, which are good pointers for his racing future. A chance one of these could stamp themselves as a good horse with a dominant win in a field of up-and-comers.
