Tough types take on up-and-comers, including a galloper that we would all love to win. Wendy Walter saddles up runners for the last time and stable favourite Kathy O'Hara takes the reigns of the in-form Dream Folk. He lines up well in this event, and with a decent tempo likely and a dry track forecast, the stars are aligned. Waller brings Black Jag to the race after his 6 length romp and he has a chance again, while the other stable runner Rugged Cross looks a risk stepping out to a longer distance. The most interesting runners are the imports Sir John Hawkwood and Sabor a Triunfo, who have the scope to become good quality staying gallopers and are capable of out-classing this field. The tough horses Transonic, Keep Cool and Darci Be Good will be hard to run past, but it looks like there are a couple on the way up ready to take the next step here.
