Starting with 2YOS and GONGS will be joined on-pace by COUNTERCURRENT (chased hot speed at Ballarat, could forgive?), REAGAN (fair trial 2nd of 8), CINDERS (fair trials 1st of 3 then 3rd of 5) and CARNINA (urged to win two trials). A FAIR to STRONG tempo expected. The good time GONGS ran on debut along with the performance of Perfect Pitch next start (won on Saturday after beaten 5+L by GONGS) suggests she is clearly on top. Impossible to be confident with the youngsters though, the Waller colt CHARGE was never even tested in his one trial (5th of 8) after being slow to begin.
