An open handicap over 1400m with a few on-pacers despite the small field. OXFORD POET, PASSAGE OF TIME, TOUGHERTHANTHEREST and JUST DREAMING can all push forward, perhaps JUST DREAMING in the box seat with the pressure from outside. JUST DREAMING has just been OK in her two runs this prep, going too hard first-up at Randwick before a close 5th last start at Randwick again. She gets to her preferred Rosehill track now and worth one more chance in this race. A few threats, including DAGNY straight to 1400m, FIRSTHAND (if he jumps well) fighting on and PASSAGE OF TIME (last 50m a risk) near the pace. TOUGHERTHANTHEREST is a roughie with some hope if the track firms up enough and the old boy OXFORD POET can always stick his nose out for a place. [updated 8:12am]
