An easy race to analyse, early speed from THE PHAROAH out wide, MAPMAKER moving up with SWEET SCANDAL in the box seat at a FAIR tempo. SWEET SCANDAL was much too strong over 1300m last time out and gets a nice race here, drawn the inside, up to 1350m and on a dry track. She's the progressive type, while MAPMAKER and SCHUBERT both have recent Rosehill ratings that will be competitive if she doesn't improve. REGENT probably not suited here (big long straight, tends to peak on run). HANDFAST, THE PHAROAH and NO INTEREST all come through an easier race at Canterbury, perhaps THE PHAROAH a rough chance of an upset on firm ground out in the lead. PIPELINE well suited if fit enough, he did drift in the market first-up and was only OK. [updated 8:44am]
