A couple of carnival type horses resume in this BM85 race as the off-season horses start to make way. As Needed is an impressive galloper and the Cummings stable have secured James McDonald after a string recent trial win. He looks to have more power than the other first-up horse, Rock Hero, who will be better suited as the distances increase. Of the horses up and running, Society Man and Coolring can get control up-front, while You'll Never is racing very gamely and is sure to be closing from the back. A value hope is Hunter Jack after his strong first-up run behind Cluster. If the race was a bit further and the first-uppers were fit there wouldn't be much question. It's all about working out if they are worth the gamble first-up.
