The feature event of the day brings together some of Sydney and Melbourne's best gallopers as the Spring carnival looms large on the calendar. There aren't many better 'types' than Boban and he heads early markets after a strong first-up run. He'll get back from the barrier, and while he clearly has the class to win, he will be reliant on the on-pacers setting an honest gallop to bring him into the race. That looks likely though, with the tough Sweet Idea and free-rolling sprinter Moment of Change both drawn wide. Expect 'Froggy' Newitt to be given orders to push on with Waterhouse-trained mare and that will test the stamina of Moment of Change right to the limit. Camped on their backs will be Messene, who looked to have improvement in the yard before his first-up run and is a big danger to Boban. Other chances include Puissance de Lune (inside barrier helps), Super Cool (has the class if fit) and Dissident (very tough). A few angles to think about in what promises to be a keenly contested race.
