The Concorde Stakes brings together some of the faster horses in Sydney, many of them starting their Spring campaigns. The speed is hot, very hot, with half the field capable of leading and Rain Affair engaged. The old Jo Pride sprinter trialled ok into the event, you would have just loved to see him open up by a few lengths like he used to. Didntcostalot was the standout from the trials and he whipped past Rain Affair in his most recent warm-up. He has the ability to just sit behind the speed if needed, which could be crucial here. Atmospherical and Sessions also impressed. They come into the race with most scope and the best form respectively and it would be a big coup for David Pfieffer if he could get his stable star to win here. The other key chances are Target In Sight (conditions look perfect) and Whittington (very tough). There will be fireworks in this one.
