One of the smaller fields of the day, but still a lot of interest in this Group 2 event - a great betting race. There are a few options for the leader, most likely being Tougher Than Even or Jetset Lad, with Ninth Legion, Zephyron or Laser Hawk being other options. Both Bull Point and Cluster were just off the better Group 1 gallopers in their three year old year and are well placed against the older gallopers on the limit weight. Cluster usually jumps better than the Waller runner and has a superior turn-of-foot, so could be the best option of the two. Oaks winner Kirramosa returned with a great run behind Sweet Idea and is expected to perform well again as she prepares for the longer Spring races. There is just a risk she will lack the pure speed needed to win. The value in the race comes in the form of the Hawkes-trained Ninth Legion, who performed well enough first-up in the heavy rain and came 5th in Group 1 Doncaster last preparation. Jetset Lad could even surprise after hitting career best form of late. Check out the bias and which 'types' are winning on the day, this race deserves a pretty close look.
