The big stables meet head-on in this year's Kingston Town stakes as Waller brings his army to take on two of the better stayers from the Waterhouse and Hawkes camp. Early markets are headed by the Waterhouse-trained Greatwood and Hawkes-trained La Amistad, who both have the scope to be serious Spring Carnival contenders. Makybe Diva's three-quarter sister, La Amistad, shows great stamina in her races and will be hard to hold out if she can get within striking distance on the turn, while Greatwood will be up on the speed making his own luck. Both horses are big chances to win. Waller's runners are headed by He's Your Man, who will be looking to turn the tables on Greatwood from last start, and Godolphin shouldn't be discounted with their Group 2 winner Gallatin. Other hopes include Mr O'Ceirin (good winter form), Kingdoms (racing well), Celtic Prince (will be staying on), Iggi Pop (enjoys a good tempo) and Single (deserves a win). With Laidback Larry giving them a bunny to chase, they might stretch right out in this one.
