A hot day and a switch from Warwick Farm to the Kensington track, in the end only saving one degree of heat (38 instead of 39 forecast), but to be fair to organisers the gap in temperatures was bigger during the week when the change was made. Irrigation going on the track Saturday morning to keep it GOOD 4, drying out to GOOD 3 later, then maybe back to a GOOD 4 for the last few races if the 2mm to 5mm forecast for the afternoon comes. HIGHTAIL proved he can soak up some pressure and still fight on, he sets the benchmark for the others to beat. JAHBATH (1st in weak trial, 2nd urged), TWENTYFOUR CARAT (placed in a few trials, not asked) and AVON RIVER (urged to win trial) all have claims on debut. VICI a a big strong looking type that seemed a bit green in a couple of fair trials (check market and yard). ISLANDS and UNDERWOOD will be up there near the pace.
