The big Hawkesbury standalone meeting, group racing continuing in Sydney's north west following a huge Autumn Carnival and farewell to Winx. The weather is dry, the track is GOOD and the rail is back in the TRUE. Expect a pretty FAIR racing surface on a track that some horses enjoy more than others. Starting off with the stayers over 2100m, early speed a little up in the air, MAKDANIFE the likely leader, who could back it off then set off for a LONG SPRINT home given he's a tough wet-tracker back on dry conditions. KING VIV and BAJAN GOLD bring the best form to the race and should enjoy the firm conditions more than most. BELFAST BELLA the progressive type coming off a win on the track in easier grade. FREE FLY TOO and MAKDANFIE perhaps a touch better in the wet. RAQEEQ could improve and do something third-up. CONCESSIONS the local mare that could sneak a place. [updated 9:02am]
